We were a little rushed because we had the boys 15month checkup at 8:15am. Side note- they are actually 16 months but the appointment got delayed with my Texas trip. Anyways, the appointment went well and they are perfect. They also are on the growth chart for the first time EVER! They are both in the 10th percentile for weight at 22 lbs. And then 25th percentile for their height and head circumference. It's hard to believe that they won't be going back till they are TWO!! Our Dr. said we could skip their 18month since they are doing so great and the shot they usually get can wait till their 2 year appointment. I think she did that for us because we are self pay. Today's visit cost us $300! Eeek! They did have to get 4 shots today so that was sad. But so far they are acting normal.

New friends...
We invited some new friends over last night for dinner. It was sorta last minute. I already planned to try a new crockpot recipe so I gave them fair warning we may end up with Little Caesars. Everyone "said" they loved the food but it was just so-so in my opinion.
After we ate we all got sucked into Americas got talent and they ended up staying till 10pm! We loved having the company and can't wait to do it again.
Before they left I wanted a picture with Jenny. Little did I know my hair looked crazy but oh well, life goes on. I can be real since this is what I look like half the time :)

Tuesday Fun
Yesterday Caroline came and spent time with the boys and I. Caroline was in my PK class 2 years ago. She will be in first grade this year and alot of my same PK kids will be together again. I am hoping to go volunteer in their class since I will know so many of the kids and I sorta know their teacher (who has twins herself).
We made play dough and sugar cookies while Caroline was here. We kept makingplay dough till we ran out of flour!
Being with her made me miss the fact I am not starting a new school year. If only teaching was JUST teaching, I may have time for it. But at this point in my life I can't teach/work 12 hour days and still love on my family.
I also tried a new crockpot recipe yesterday. I thought it would be really good because I saw it all over Pinterest but it was just OK. I probably won't be making it again. It was the chicken one with pineapple and soy sauce...
In other news, I am super excited about planning our Sunday School Social. This Sunday I will start teaching 1st grade at church and Christopher will be doing 6th grade boys with Drew Hall. I am excited but sad to miss the fellowship from our adult Sunday school class. So that we can stay connected I decided to kinda be in charge of our socials. I am hoping we can have monthly socials from here on out. Our first one is going to be a game night, Minute to Win It style!!! I need to start planning the games. Hopefully everyone will enjoy it! I am already thinking about doing an Amazing race scavenger Hunt for possibly our next social!
Now if only I could get that excited about cleaning this house.
I laid the boys down for a morning nap but it doesn't look like that is going to happen. I better make use of the maybe 15minutes I have before they really start crying! I don't want them to drop their morning nap. EVER.

Quiet Book
If you follow me on Pinterest you probably know Quiet books are on my mind. I am trying not to let it discourage me that the average person said it took them 50+ hours and months of work to complete theirs.
Anyways, today my mom showed me how to use my (her) sewing machine enough to make my quiet book! I finished a shape page today! Well almost finished. I need to see on the Velcro.
Kensley's Horse Show
We had a fun (early) morning going to our cousin Kensley's horse show! She was super cute...
The boys loved watching! They also finally fit into their 6-12 month overalls that I bought forever ago.

New cousin!
The boys have a new cousin! Davis Christopher was born this morning and he is the 9th grandchild on Christopher's side. We are very excited he is here! We kept Davis's big sisters, kensley and Ella the past 2 days and wow I am not ready for any more kids ANY time soon! Whew! But of course we loved getting some extra K&E time!!

Dusting off the Old Blog
I could kick myself for not keeping up with this blog! It is so hard to remember everything that has taken place over the last 9 months! I am a major blog stalker and LOVE reading other people's blogs but I just can't keep up with my own. So heres to hoping I can keep it up this time!
Let's recap a little of the past 9 months (if that is possible)....

AUGUST 2012
Let's recap a little of the past 9 months (if that is possible)....
JUNE 2013
Lots of time was spent at shell point during the summer!
The boys also enjoyed spending time with Aunt Polly (my half-sister)...
We discovered that mosquitos are not Knox's friend. They ate him up every time and Griffin wouldn't have a single bite!
The boys seemed to LOVE the pool, although we only went a few times in the late afternoon/evening since they couldn't wear sunscreen yet.
While I was home during the summer we would take walks to visit daddy at work!
Aunt April came to visit and of course we hit up Waffle House.
Thankful for family that helps.
Videos of the boys rolling over
JULY 2012
We drove to Texas for my cousin's wedding in July. We stayed for 2 weeks and the trip went by way too fast!
We went to a Rangers Game (my cousin had awesome season tickets) and it was our FIRST night away from the boys. They cheered on the rangers from back in Longview with my mom.
We caught up with some old friends I went to High School with...
Rehearsal dinner for my cousin's wedding...
Met up with Sara, my old co-worker and friend...
Met up with my old boss who was like a local mom while I was in college...

AUGUST 2012
Time for me to go back to work. I was actually very excited to get back to work. I thought it would be nice to get the break during the day and enjoy the babies at night. Boy was I wrong. Teaching prek all day and then coming home to twins was HARD. I was so tired all.the.time!
We did squeeze in one last shell point trip before school started back. We went with our friends Corey and Lori and baby Preston, who is 3 days younger than our boys.
I learned to clean scallops...
We started having monthly family dinners at Bruce and Lulies...
